Want to be an ALJ Great News for 10-Point Veterans!

Want to be an ALJ Great News for 10-Point Veterans! Want to be an ALJ Great News for 10-Point Veterans! Want to be an ALJ? Great News for 10-Point Veterans! The 2016 Administrative Law Judge Announcement (https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/433604700) may have closed, but 10-point Veterans may still apply. Pursuant to 5 CFR 332.311, “a 10-point preference eligible is entitled to file an application at any time for an examination for any position for which OPM maintains a register, for which a register is about to be established, or for which a nontemporary appointment was made in the preceding three years. For the purposes of this paragraph OPM shall hold an examination not later than the quarterly period succeeding that in which the application is filed.” In other words, the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Program Office, which administers the ALJ exam, continues to do so on a quarterly basis so that 10-point preference eligibles can apply.  If you are a 10-point preference Veteran who is interested in applying for the closed ALJ examination, The Resume Place can help. Just as we assisted the many candidates who applied successfully during the March-April 2016 open period, we continue to help 10-point Veterans now.   The same application materials are required, only now, those materials are submitted via email. They consist of: a resume a completed application questionnaire (which requires, among other things, two detailed, qualifying narratives and details of bar membership) proof of Veteran’s  status optional listing of cases (specific format required) Candidates who wish to apply to the closed exam must first submit their request to take the examination and provide the required proof of veterans preference entitlement by email to aljapplication@opm.gov.
